Admin dashboard

Team

The Team view — the Users tab inside Organization — is where you manage who has access to your Anter workspace and what they can do. You can invite new members, change roles, and search the full user list.

Roles

Anter has three organization roles:

RoleWhat they can do
OwnerFull access to all admin features, including assigning the owner role to others
AdminFull access to all admin features except assigning the owner role
MemberAccess to Chat and their own profile; cannot manage users, integrations, or org settings

Most organizations have one or two owners and one or more admins who handle day-to-day configuration. Regular users who only need to chat with agents are members.

Inviting a user

Click Add User in the top-right corner of the Team view. Enter the user's email address and confirm. The user is added immediately with the member role.

After inviting, you can adjust their role using the role editor — see below.

New users start as members

All invitations grant the member role by default. This is intentional — it keeps new users out of admin surfaces until you've explicitly promoted them. Adjust roles right after inviting if you need to.

Editing roles

Click the Edit roles button on any user's row to open the role editor. The dialog shows the user's email and a checklist of the three roles.

Check and uncheck roles as needed and click Save roles.

Constraints:

  • Only owners can assign or remove the owner role — admins cannot promote another user to owner
  • An owner cannot remove their own owner role from this dialog (to prevent accidental lockout)
  • At least one role must remain selected

Searching and filtering

The toolbar above the user list has a search field and two filter dropdowns:

  • Search — matches against name, email, organization, and role
  • Role filter — narrows to users with a specific role
  • Status filter — narrows by account status

Search and filters apply to the current page only, not the full list. For large organizations, use pagination to move through pages and apply filters to narrow the results on each page.

Pagination

The user table paginates at 10, 25, or 50 rows per page — select your preferred page size from the dropdown in the footer. Use the Previous and Next buttons to navigate. The footer shows "Showing X–Y of Z" so you always know where you are.
