Admin

The admin section is where you configure and operate your Anter workspace. It covers everything that lives above the level of an individual agent — who has access, which external services are connected, what documents are available, and how the platform is performing.

What's in the admin section

ModuleWhat you do here
DashboardA high-level view of organizations and active users across your workspace
Agent BuilderA read-only topology view of the platform's code-based agent registry — useful for understanding the underlying architecture
IntegrationsConnect external services to your organization via MCP servers; manage LLM model providers
Knowledge BaseUpload documents and web pages that agents can draw on, organized by project
OrganizationInvite and manage team members; view organization details and your current role

Who uses the admin section

Most admin modules require an owner or admin role within your organization. Members can access the Knowledge Base and their own profile but cannot manage users, view organization settings, or configure integrations.

How admin relates to Chat and Flows

The admin section handles workspace-level configuration. The resources you set up here — MCP server connections, knowledge base documents, model providers — flow into the agents you build in Flows and the conversations you run in Chat.

  1. Set up model providers

Before agents can run, at least one model provider must be configured. Go to Agent Builder → Models to add your API keys. New organizations start with a one-time grant of free tokens, so agents run before you add a key — but the grant does not refill.

  2. Connect external services

Add MCP servers to give your agents access to external tools — databases, file storage, APIs — without configuring each one per-project.

  3. Upload knowledge

Upload documents to the Knowledge Base and assign them to the projects whose agents should be able to reference them.

  4. Invite your team

Add colleagues via Organization → Team and assign them the appropriate role for their responsibilities.

Out of free tokens?

The Dashboard banner tracks the one-time free token grant every organization starts with. When it reads Free tokens used up, agents stop running until you add a provider of your own — go to Agent Builder → Models. See the Dashboard for the banner's other states.
